Yesterday I recorded an EP with my new band (the Jesse Milnes Band, unless somebody comes up with a better name soon). We cut 6 original songs and two fiddle tunes, although I reserve the right to edit out a couple of tracks if I don’t like what I hear next week.
the Jesse Milnes band is: Nate Druckenmiller on Bass, Eduardo Canelon on Drums, Branson Raines on Fiddle and yours truly singing and playing electric guitar. Emily came by and sang harmony, but she’s not really a member of the Jesse Milnes band, because if she comes to a gig then it’s the Jesse and Emmy band.
I’ll find a way to put some tracks online as soon as I can.
Here’s a video we made at the T-Mart Rounders recording session two winters ago. This isn’t the final take, we set up some cameras and played the song again when we were completely punch drunk from recording all day.
I wrote this song after a lady at the laundromat told me her story.
This video’s from May, 2013, so it’s not exactly news, but I thought it might be good to have some actual music on here. Ben Guzman did a bang-up job organizing the festival as well as producing this video. And Emmy looks (and sounds) so beautiful! Hope you enjoy:

I’m on the map of notable WV musicians created by the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame. Look for me in Webster County right next to Edden Hammons.
It’s enough to make my head swell!
Man, I can’t believe it’s Halloween already.
My New Year’s Resolution:
Do less stuff, go less places.
Emily thought this was a bad resolution, because it’s grammatically incorrect, and because she apparently likes doing stuff. Whatever.
I did not see this coming.
(Spoiler alert: it’s a drawing of Emmy and Zara in the New Yorker)
